Children in Care

Here at Fonthill Primary Academy, we have a proactive approach to supporting Children in Care and Previously Looked after Children by laying the foundations of an engaging and positive learning experience.  We encourage children to flourish as learners throughout our primary school, and then onto secondary school, and for the rest of their lives. 

Our Offer

• Designated member of staff, Sarah Anderson, who will act as a central point of contact for children and families
• Enhanced transitions between key phases including if you move within the school year and onto Secondary School 
• Identified key adult for regular check-ins  
• Access to Pastoral Team Support  
• We work alongside The Hope Virtual School to ensure that best practice is followed 
• Access to after-school clubs and activities 
• All teaching staff have high expectations for all children to succeed and thrive 
• Access to before school tutoring, if required
• Three times a year education plan meetings with designated teacher to discuss children’s progress and targets
